What is Tricor?

TriCor is generically known as Fenofibrate, a drug that reduces cholesterol and fatty acids in the bloodstream. Both these types of fat can lead to atherosclerosis, also known as clogged arteries, which can be a contributing risk factor in heart disease and stroke. TriCor is prescribed to people suffering from, or at risk of, atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, or high triglyceride (fatty acids). TriCor may be prescribed for other reasons. Serious TriCor side effects:

  • In rare instances TriCor can cause muslce pain, often in conjunction with a high fever or other flu symptoms.

Less serious TriCor side effects:

  • Minor joint pain
  • Indigestion
